Large Oak burl (swirly) bowl
This burl was cut from an uprooted massive Live Oak tree in Palmetto FL due to a heavy wind storm. The wood is extremely hard and this bowl was turned very thin while wet. This was done intentionally, to allow the bowl to twist and warp to its optimal comfortable shape. Rustic feel and fantastic texture from the internal strains on the wood fibers from warping. It feels great in the hand. Finished with Danish oil, this piece fits perfectly flat on the table. Dimensions are 9.5” x 5”.
